Charity Bake Sale Raises Over £570 for Young Lives vs Cancer

Back for its third year, our charity bake sale brought staff and our community together to celebrate our Yate branch reopening and raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Reopening of Our Refurbished Yate Office

On Wednesday 24th September 2025, we hosted this year’s charity bake sale at our F Woodruff Funeral Directors, Yate branch in support of Young Lives vs Cancer.

Organised once again by Henry Beauchamp, this was our third bake sale in as many years. Following previous events at HG Harris (Staple Hill) in 2023 for St Peter’s Hospice, and at F Woodruff (Winterbourne) in 2024 for Parkinson’s UK.

The event also marked the official reopening of our Yate branch, which has undergone an extensive refurbishment over the summer. We have completely reshaped the office, moving internal walls to create an open-plan reception, a larger chapel, and an additional arrangement room.

We were joined on the day by many familiar faces and members of the public from Yate and Chipping Sodbury. Special guests included Councillor Aziz Chowdhry (Mayor of Yate) and Gloucestershire cricketers Ed Middleton and Dom Goodman.

Over the course of the day we raised £571 for Young Lives vs Cancer. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we received so many cakes that we were even able to donate unopened ones to The Salvation Army in Staple Hill.
